We get it: Sometimes, when you’re looking to get started with a good-quality but easy-to-use entryway electric bike, it can be hard to get started.
If you’re looking for an electric bike that’s as easy to ride as, well, the bicycles you grew up with, it’s time to turn to one of our favorite ebike brands—Ancheer.
Since 2015, Ancheer has been producing low-price, high-spec bikes that are comfortable, aesthetic, and have features that are usually reserved for higher-priced models. This US-based e-bike company has partnered with top manufacturers in Taiwan and China to produce a lineup of accessible bike styles in a range of different wheel sizes. No matter whether you’re looking for something portable and easy-to-carry (a bit like the best e-scooters) or a mountain bike with fat tires, Ancheer will have an ebike in its lineup to meet your sustainable commuting needs.
While it can be easy to dismiss a lower-priced bike as likely lower-quality, with Ancheer, that simply doesn’t seem to be the case. Need further convincing? Check the electric bike reviews on Amazon—Ancheer bikes are true standouts for their prices.
We had the pleasure of testing a couple of Ancheer’s recent rides and here is what we learned.

Hands-on experience with the Ancheer electric mountain bike
Design, materials and build quality
While there is a little assembly required for each Ancheer bike you purchase, it’s evident from the first unboxing that each part is made with high-quality materials. The front fork of the electric mountain bike is made of carbon steel; each of the other parts of the bike (including the pedals, saddle tube, handlebars, and pedals) are made of an aluminum alloy that’s corrosion-resistant.
As a result, the entire bike feels sturdy and light—which means that even though this is a durable, rugged mountain bike, maneuvering it is a breeze.
Performance and ride quality
If you’re not a fan of the loud sound that accompanies most motorbikes, this is the one for you: The motor runs almost silently in the first two levels of assist. The bike runs smoothly and capably, handling minor obstacles and reasonably adventurous terrain with ease.
Motor and battery
The battery, a 36V 12AH ion lithium model, is easy to remove and store or refuel in a smart lithium charger. It looks a bit like an oversized drink carrier, which does make it clear even from a distance that this is an electric bike. The 250W high-speed brushless gear motor is intended for off-road use in this mountain model.
Speed and acceleration
This Ancheer e-bike has a 25mph (40kph) maximum speed, and it can get there quite quickly—with enough power behind its wheels to get you speeding up and down mountains in mere seconds.
Hill climbing
As its name implies, the Ancheer electric mountain bike is geared for climbing hills easily. It comes with three differing assist levels, depending on how quickly you want to go and the type of workout you want for your legs!
Range
This e-bike can go approximately 22-40 miles (35-64 kilometers) on a single charge; however, that will depend on things like the weight the bike is carrying and the terrain it’s going over.
Braking
This bike comes equipped with front and rear mechanical disc brakes to give you a full shop in seconds. This is a useful feature to have on a mountain bike, and on the Ancheer mountain e-bike, it works well!
Tire
The tires on this electric bicycle are high-quality lithium models.
Charge time
The Ancheer electric mountain bike will charge in approximately 4-6 hours.
Colours
This durable bike is available in black, blue, orange, and red shades.
Price
The Ancheer electric mountain bike is available for $659.99.
Who this electric bike is best for

Hands-on experience with the Ancheer folding electric bike
Design, materials and build quality
This e-bike may fold down easily, but it feels durable and manageable. This is because the Ancheer folding electric bike has an aluminum alloy frame centered around one front tube. The front fork is made of carbon steel that can hold a weight of up to 330lb (150 kg). The seat is cushioned, and the handlebars are ergonomic—all great for long rides, and signs of a long life for this bike!
Motor and battery
The Ancheer folding electric bike comes with a 250W high-speed brushless hub motor and a 36V, 8AH lithium battery. This gives you high efficiency and decent torque. We like that this e-bike comes with three different assist settings: You can very easily indicate that you only want a little help powering your bike, or that you basically need your e-bike to whisk you away without much effort on your part.
We also liked that the battery is sheathed within the frame of the e-bike, which means that the battery will stay protected at all times.
Performance and ride quality
The Ancheer electric folding bike rides smoothly and well, and the shocks and comfortable seat ensure that you have a good e-bike experience, no matter the type of terrain.
Speed and acceleration
We found that the acceleration was swift, particularly for a bike with a slight frame and a low price tag! While the Ancheer electric folding bike isn’t the fastest out there, with a max speed of 15.5 mph (25 km/h), it’s speedy enough to get you where you need to go in a timely and safe manner.
Hill climbing
This bike is best on level terrain. However, this folding electric cycle does have high-quality shocks, which helps with bumpier rides and sloping hills (particularly on the way down).
Range
From a full charge, you’ll be able to go between 15-30 miles (25-50 km) before you run out of power. It’ll be on the shorter end with no pedaling, and on the higher end if you pedal assist.
Braking
This Ancheer e-bike has dual mechanical disk brakes, which means that you’ll stop quickly even when you’re traversing at high speeds. You’ll experience a fluid, smooth stop. We found that the brakes sometimes squeal a little bit when pushed, but overall the experience was safe and seamless.
Tires
The Ancheer folding electric bike has 20” lithium tires.
Charge time
This ultra-portable bike will charge in approximately 4-6 hours.
Colours
The Ancheer folding electric bike is available in black and white.
Price
The Ancheer folding e-bike is available for $729.99.
Who this e-bike is is best for
People who want to take portability and living on the go to greater heights.

- Ride1Up: Ride1Up offers popular, lightweight, and agile electric bikes—and their e-bikes may be more design-centric. - Rad Power Bikes: The lineup at Rad Power Bikes may have a slightly more varied list of models than those at Ancheer, making this company a great option for those who are ready to move on from entry-level e-bikes. - Lectric: This brand focuses exclusively on making great foldable bikes, and they’ve succeeded with the Lectric XP 2.0 that we selected as the best foldable option on our ranking of the best electric bikes of the year. Check our hands-on Lectric XP 2.0 review to learn more about this ebike.
- Charge Bikes: These easy-to-use e-bikes can be assembled in as little as ten minutes, far less than the ~90 minutes it can take to put together an Ancheer bike. However, they are not as cost-effective as Ancheer bikes. Visit the official Charge Bikes website to see their latest deals and offers.
